ज्ञान कर्म संन्यास योग
ये यथा मां प्रपद्यन्ते तांस्तथैव भजाम्यहम्। मम वर्त्मानुवर्तन्ते मनुष्याः पार्थ सर्वशः॥ 4:11॥
ये यथा माम् प्र-पद्यन्ते, तान् तथा एव भजामि अहम्, मम वर्त्म अनु-वर्तन्ते मनुष्याः पार्थ सर्वशः।
पार्थ (अर्जुन)! ये (जो) माम् (मुझे) यथा (जिस प्रकार) प्र-पद्यन्ते (भजते हैं), अहम् (मैं) तान् (उन्हें) तथा एव (उसी प्रकार) भजामि (भजता हूँ) मनुष्याः (मनुष्य) सर्वशः (सभी प्रकार से) मम (मेरे) वर्त्म (मार्ग का) अनु-वर्तन्ते (अनुगमन करते हैं)।

हे अर्जुन! जो भक्त जिस प्रकार से, जिस भाव से, मेरी शरण में आते हैं, मैं भी उनको उसी प्रकार से, उसी भाव से, स्वीकार करता हूँ, क्योंकि जिस किसी प्रकार और जिस किसी भाव से मेरी शरण में आएँ, वे सभी मनुष्य सब प्रकार से मेरे ही—मुझ एक परमेश्वर के ही—मार्ग का अनुसरण कर रहे होते हैं।

O Son of Prithā (Arjuna)! Devotees connect with Me in various ways, expressing diverse sentiments and forms of worship. In return, I reciprocate in kind. Yet, all these paths ultimately lead to Me. (4:11)

सुदामा ने उन्हें मित्र-रूप में भजा, मीरा ने पति-रूप में; यशोदा, कौशल्या और दशरथ ने पुत्र-रूप में, और रावण ने शत्रु-रूप में! ज्ञानी उन्हें निर्विशेष निराकार ब्रह्म-रूप में भजते हैं, तो कोई उन्हें सगुण-साकार रूप में भजता है। कोई उन्हें विष्णु-रूप में स्वीकार करता है, तो कोई शिव या शक्ति-रूप में। कुछ अन्य उन्हें गॉड, यहोवा या खुदा-रूप में भी भजते हैं! ये सभी मनुष्य वास्तव में एक ही ईश्वर के मार्ग पर अग्रसर होते हैं। परमेश्वर इन सभी को उनके भाव के अनुरूप ही स्वीकार करते हैं और फल प्रदान करते हैं। यज्ञेश्वर के रूप में वे ही यज्ञों की आहुति भी स्वीकार करते हैं।

This verse emphasizes the universality of spiritual paths, underscoring that various routes can lead to the same Divine Presence. Though the Supreme Being may have diverse names – be it "Diew" in French, "Gott" in German, "Brahm’" or "Ishwar" in Sanskrit, "Khuda" in Persian, "Allah" in Arabic, or "God" in English – the essence remains constant. This can be likened to how water is termed differently in various languages – "jalam" in Sanskrit, "water" in English, "mā" in Arabic, "wasser" in German, and "eau" in French – yet each term points to the singular substance of water. Sources of water vary, from wells to rivers, yet the essence is the same. In contrast, many religious doctrines assert exclusivity in their paths and divine representations. Even within Sanātana Dharma, often referred to as Hinduism, numerous sects uphold their way as the sole route to the Divine. However, the Bhagavad-Gitā, with its inclusive spirit, acknowledges a plethora of valid spiritual paths, encompassing the Path of Knowledge (Jnāna Yoga), Devotion (Bhakti Yoga), Unattached Action (Karma Yoga), and Meditation (Dhyāna Yoga), among others.
