Sri Rāma was an earlier incarnation of Bhagawān Vishnu, predating Sri Krishna. He was born as King Dasharatha's son in Ayodhyā, which is now part of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. Rāma is often seen as an ideal figure for everyone to emulate. Besides being an ideal, he was also a skilled warrior. During his exile to the forest due to his stepmother Kaikeyi's wishes, Rāma united a group of forest dwellers into an army. He faced the mighty Asura king Rāvana, who led the forces of evil, causing widespread terror. Rāma's bravery, archery, and leadership were instrumental in confronting this threat.
