What naturally is the human disposition — divine or demonic?

A seeker once asked: if desire, self-interest, and attachment seem natural to human beings, why should we struggle to cultivate qualities that appear contrary to our instincts? The Gita's answer is that both divine and demonic tendencies exist within every person — and a life of progress lies in gradually rising from tamas to rajas to sattva, and then beyond.

It is not true that people who engage in immoral actions are necessarily happier. Upon closer observation, there is a vast difference between temporary success and genuine happiness — and the Gita points the way to lasting freedom from sorrow.

Is the Supreme God with form (sākāra), or formless (nirākāra), or both, or beyond both?

The Supreme Reality is originally formless, unmanifest, and beyond the three qualities of material nature.
