GITA GLOBAL GURUKUL (SCHOOL)

Gita Global Gurukul is a schooling system patterned on the ancient Indian Gurukul approach, based on the philosophy and ideology of the globally admired book, the Bhagavad Gita. In a residential environment, it provides free education and accommodation to the resident students. It also plans to have non-residential branches in villages to provide part-time education to children and adults for knowledge and livelihood. It has elements of a modern education system especially learning through high-quality videos, while we are also building toward personalised learning paths, tests, and feedback based on the psychology and neuroscience of learning. Currently, this system is being applied to children from underprivileged backgrounds. It does not overburden a children's day with too many subjects and too many lessons with too much homework. It allows children to grow at a natural pace, properly digesting the food for thought given to them. It provides them with varied information but emphasises developing their thinking abilities, especially critical thinking skills and creativity. 
It tries to bring academic excellence to them by teaching them self-learning competencies, research skills, critical thinking, memory skills, examination skills, and study skills. These topics are usually outside the ordinary school or college curriculum. The Gurukul also tries to bring the necessary life skills to its pupils. These skills include interpersonal relations, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, civilised behaviour, care of the old, ethics and values, family values, philanthropy, understanding the problems of those experiencing poverty and disabilities, sense of humour, to name a few. Between these two poles of academic competencies and practical life skills, they are given all the essential information of the natural and social sciences, maths, English, arts, and national and global affairs. We propose to open branches of Gita Global Gurukul in all states and all the different countries of the world. We have opened a small Gurukul branch at Satiwala of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh, which is in a nascent stage. The Gita Global Gurukul headquarters are expected to come up soon near Vrindavan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. 2.5 acres of land have already been acquired for the purpose. We expect education lovers, philanthropists, and lovers of the Bhagavad Gita and Lord Krishna to help us raise the physical infrastructure on the land acquired.

Unique Curriculum

 

We have designed an original curriculum for the all-around development of children, cognitive, emotive, and behavioural. This curriculum is being implemented through the Gita Global Gurukul schools, mostly for underprivileged children at the moment.  We have developed various novel methods of memorisation and understanding and have experimented with them in special residential camps organised for slum children and other school children. We are working on spreading the novel education model physically and through the internet far and wide.
